Guidelines Available on the Packs of Pet Foods

You should all the times be able to note the difference between a cat and a dog and also between a kitten and a puppy when it comes to feeding and caring them. Here are some tips when dealing with their diet.

When we talk of quantity of food required by cats, then an active cat require about a half ounce of cat food per pound of the body weight. This means four ounces for an 8lb adult cat with normal activity level without extra needs.

It is also not advisable to over feed your cat. Feed your cat a high quality of food which is nutritious and not loaded with fillers that may harm you pets.

As per diet of cats, they always require Tourane and an essential amino acids. Unlike dogs and human beings, cats cannot synthesize Tourane from other nutrients. Therefore, this nutrient should be always available in their diet. Lack of this nutrient, cats can develop eye problem which may lead to blindness.

Cats also require vitamin A, and also they cannot make their own. Many animals can make their own from caratenoids but not cats.

A way of providing vitamin A to cats is by feeding them raw livers. It is very unacceptable to them though and therefore an easy way is to add a cod liver oil to their food.

The guidelines available on the packs of pet foods are just general guidelines and therefore it is acceptable consider more factors.

An older cat may require less food and less food also. Also their requirements vary from breed to breed and also their ways of habitual

One more factor to consider is the overfeeding. At any age or activity level many people tend to pamper their cats. This will make your cat be in obese which is not that healthy and may lead to many complications.
