Dogs, Dog Training, and the Economy

I live out on a country road, It's actually a dirt and gravel road. Recently they added some gravel. I guess It looks like the perfect road to dump animals out on, because they dump animals off out here a lot, now, even more than ever. You know what it is? It's the economy. A lot of these people can't hardly afford to feed themselves, much less their animals. We've got, record unemployment, massive lay-offs, and an ever shrinking economy.

It seems it is the large dogs that get the pink slip first. There seems to be a higher number of large dogs being discarded. Also a lot of Bulldogs. It seems the Bulldog has gotten a bad reputation in the last few years.

I've been involved in the care and training of Bulldogs for over 20 years. I currently own an American Staffordshire Terrier bulldog, and he is one of the best behaved animals I've owned. Over the years I have owned numerous large dogs, and I personally believe the bulldog was the fastest and easiest to train. You just have to learn a dog how to train.

The American Staffordshire Terrier, usually called the Pit Bull Terrier. Over the last few years has received some bad rap, because people wanting to raise them for sport fighting. however they were originally bred for fighting. The American Staffordshire Terrier is very friendly. very intelligent, playful and outgoing.

Whether it be large dogs or small dogs. We need to get to work and have more animals spayed and nuetered. A while back, Some places use to offer these services free, one weekend a month, at places like Petco and other pet stores. remember to support your local S.P.C.A.,and remember when the economy is hurting, the animal population will be the first to feel the pain.
