Do You Know What is in Your Pet Food?

Most people think that if they are feeding their pet Science Diet, Iams, Nutro, Eukanuba, Pedigree, Purina, Whiskas, 9-Lives, Kibbles n Bits, Pro Plan or Beneful, just to name a few, that you are feeding your pet a healthy meal. You, like most people are not aware of what is really in the food and rely on the brands to deliver what they claim. Most of the above foods advertise and package their foods to look appetizing and nutritious. Most of them also use rendered meat such as road kill including cats and dogs, euthanized pets from vets, and any mammal parts in their foods. The following list are actual ingredients found in the above mentioned brands.

-Chicken By-Products meal: consists of ground, rendered parts of the carcass of slaughtered chickens such as necks, feet, undeveloped egg, intestines, feathers and blood.
-BHT/BHA-A synthetic preservative: know to cause liver and kidney dysfunction also a cancer causing agent
-Ethoxyquin: This is a hazardous chemical by OSHA. This was originally used as a pesticide known to cause cancer in animals. This is used as a preservative in pet food.
-Soybean Meal: This contains large quantities of natural toxins or anti-nutrient. There are potent enzyme inhibitors that blocks the action of trypsin and other enzymes needed for protein digestions. They can produce serious gastric distress, reduced protein, digestion and chronic deficiencies in amino acid uptake. In test animals, diet high in trypsin cause enlargement and pathological conditions of the pancreas, including cancer.
-Meat By-Products: This is not necessarily meat. It can come form any animal source even may include road kill, which may include dogs, cats, and euthanized pets.
-Sucrose sugar additives: Cat food manufactures rely on sweeteners to help addict cats to dry foods. Added sugar can affect absorption of other nutrients.

True healthy and nutritious pet foods will have human grade source in the first few ingredients you read on the label. Life span of many breed now live less than half of what they once did two or three decades ago. Some of the food companies mentioned above have even gone to lengths such as cash kickbacks to vets.
