Pet Exercise Pens - Treat Your Dog to a Pet Exercise Pen to Keep Him Safe

A pet exercise pen offers owners an effective way to keep a dog or puppy confined to a safe location. These handy pens are suitable for indoor use in any room if you want to keep your eye on a puppy but do not want them to roam freely about. Set one up on your patio whenever you light up the barbeque to keep your pet from wandering too near the hot coals. It is also useful by the pool if your dog is not a swimmer.

Pens are available in a wide variety of sizes and shapes. Finding a pen that is the appropriate size is important for the comfort of your dog. There are even several models that are expandable, so it can grow bigger as the animal does. They are generally two to four feet tall and some will have a top to prevent the dog from climbing out. For frequent outdoor use there are tops designed to shade the sun.

Wire pens are made out of wire metal and are secured to the ground with stakes. They fold flat for convenient storage and are easy to set up with no special tools required. Many of them are coated with acrylic to increase durability and some have a door so you do not have to lift the animal in and out.

For small dogs and puppies there are soft pens that are built on a strong steel frame and covered with padding and stain resistant nylon. Many models have a zippered flap on the side to give you easy access to your pet without having to bend over the side. These waterproof pens can be set up outside just as easily as they can inside and they collapse for easy transport.

  1. Is it really safe for dogs to be put in exercise pens? What if the Dog runs to much can it escape a pen?
