If you are fond of pets, then there is definitely no need to introduce you about the flea problem. They are source of permanent fatigue and tension for those people who have dogs and kitties in their houses as a pet. These fleas mostly likes to sit on dog's and cat's fur because they are closer to the ground as compared to humans and also they seek more protection and ambush in these animal's skin. Also, dogs and cats body temperature is warmer than human beings. According to modern scientists, these fleas are the second oldest creatures after cockroaches. They might look small but they are very tough in nature. People who are dealing with this flea problem definitely agree with me on this.
An average flea lives for two to three years having capable of laying one million eggs in its life span. It sucks blood from the animal's body and after feeding itself with blood, the next step is to lay eggs. The egg's size is equal to the size of a salt grain. These eggs remain within the environment of your house for months until the right time for the larvae to come out. They are very resistant to extreme temperatures and also from different types of pesticides available in the markets. These larvae are then feed on the flea dirt spit out by the parent flea. Then these larvae began to spin a protective cocoon called pupae around themselves which are then transformed into young fleas having capable of becoming a perfect parasite.
Now, comes the basic question. What is the most effective way to kill these fleas and prevent them from attacking on your animal again? It is more recommended that you first consult with a veterinarian doctor. Most of the people purchase insecticide products on their own based on their knowledge which contain a high level of toxic elements in it. Dogs and cats usually have that habit of licking their fur. So they also lick that pesticides by doing so which causes them several types of internal diseases as well. Therefore, before purchasing any such sprays or powder you should conduct a brief survey for your pet's security.
There is a wide variety of insecticides are available among which pyrethrins and pyrethroids have the lowest mammalian toxicity. They can be found in the form of shampoo, powder, sprays and aerosol etc. Remember that puppies and kittens need a lesser amount of these insecticides dose as compared to adult dogs and cats. The insecticides bottles are labeled with the complete prescriptions. One should carefully read this material before any further actions. There is a common observation that only the animal is treated with these insecticides which is not the right thing the do. Also the surroundings of the animals should be considered equally important because mostly these fleas lay their eggs under carpets or small pores in your doors. There are many types of carpet shampoos available in the market which rids the carpet of blood feces an important food for larvae.
Apart from this, there are many other types of medicines known as Novartis, Bayer etc which claims to kill adult flees within 24 hours. There are also some ultra-violet technology which is recently introduced these days to kill these fleas. The veterinarian doctors don't recommend that so it is not wiser to use any such product. Moreover, these fleas become resistant to these insecticides over the course of time which is a problem of course. So, try to treat them in their different life cycles.
